Why in News?

  • In the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on October 17, 2022, the cabinet took revised administrative approval of Rs 346 crore 12 lakh for seep amber irrigation complex project of Sehore district and several other important decisions.

Key Point

  • The Seep Amber Irrigation Complex project will provide irrigation facility in 15 thousand 284 hectares of irrigated area of 47 villages of Sehore district.
  • The Cabinet gave administrative approval for the construction of 108 feet high multi-metal statue and pedestal of Acharya Shankar at Omkareshwar at a revised rate at a revised cost of Rs 198 crore 25 lakh.
  • Such fair price shops in the state, where there are no salesmen and the eligible self-help group has agreed to operate the shop, those groups have been allowed to transfer such shops with mutual consent. A committee will be formed under the chairmanship of collector in each district for transfer of shop. It is worth mentioning that there are a total of 26 thousand 63 fair price shops in the state, out of which 4166 are operating in urban and 21 thousand 897 in rural areas.
  • The Cabinet gave its approval to conduct the Chief Minister's Youth Internship for Professional Development (CMYIPD) programme at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Good Governance and Policy Analysis for two years. The Chief Minister's Youth Internship for Professional Development Program will include 4 thousand 695 interns who have completed graduation and postgraduate education. 15 interns will be appointed in each development block.
  • The Cabinet decided to transfer all movable and immovable properties of Shri Tulsi Pragyachakshu Divyang Higher Secondary School, Chitrakoot, run by Shri Tulsi Peeth Seva Samiti Trust, to Mahatma Gandhi Chitrakoot Gramodaya Vishwavidyalaya for running the school.
