Housing Schemes Will Start in Six Cities of Uttar Pradesh including Lucknow, Kanpur, Ayodhya

Why In News?
- On November 2, 2022, in the board meeting of the Housing Development Council of Uttar Pradesh, it was decided that housing schemes would be started in Lucknow, Kanpur, Ayodhya, Mathura, Bareilly and Kannauj in the state.
Key Points
- It was informed in this meeting that housing schemes in Lucknow, Mathura and Ayodhya will be launched on January 24, 2023 on Uttar Pradesh Day, while schemes for Bareilly, Kanpur and Kannauj will also come in the year 2023.
- The land of Kanpur's Mandhna Awas Yojana will now be taken under compulsory award. Apart from this, the state's largest convention center of 5000 capacity will be built in Lucknow and 15 percent discount will be given in vacant flats of Avadh Vihar and Vrindavan. Awas Vikas Parishad has acquired land for Lucknow, Mathura, Ayodhya scheme.
- Additional Housing Commissioner and Secretary Dr. Neeraj Shukla said that 265 acres of land in Lucknow has been taken on the new jail road. Apart from this, a new housing scheme will come up on 300 acres in Mathura.
- Earlier 1291 acres of land of Manjha Barehta, Majha Sahnawajpur and Tihura villages were being taken for Ayodhya scheme. Now it has been decided to take another 241 acres of land of Majha Barehta. Presently more than 600 acres of land has been acquired.
- He informed that about 300 acres of land is being taken for the prime Mathura housing scheme of Awas Vikas Parishad. It has National Highway No. 2 on one side and Chhatikara Vrindavan Road on the other side. This plan is situated at the main entrance of Vrindavan and is situated on the boundary adjoining one of the main temples of Vrindavan Mata Vaishno Temple.
- 561 hectares of land is being taken for new housing scheme on Bareilly Shahjahanpur Road. This scheme will be developed under the Land Pooling Scheme.
- Kanpur's Mandhna scheme will be developed in 229 hectares and section 28, i.e. acquisition notification was issued in the year 2009 for this scheme. The farmers here are not giving land with mutual consent, so the board has decided to take the land here under mandatory adjudication.
- A new housing scheme is also being brought in Kannauj on 89.52 acres. For this, section 28 has been notified. Under this, land of four villages including Madanpur Badd, Yusufpur Bhagwan is being taken.
