Grant will be given for the establishment of a Fruit and Spice Garden

Why In News?

On July 10, 2023, according to the information given by the Information and Public Relations Department of Rajasthan, the farmers of the state will get a grant for the establishment of a fruit and spice garden. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has approved the financial proposal of Rs 23.79 crore for grant.

Key Points

  • In the year 2023-24, a grant of Rs 22.40 crore will be given for the fruit garden in 7609 hectare area and Rs 1.39 crore for spice garden in 2527 hectare area.
  • In this, an amount of Rs 17.24 crore will be borne by the State Farmers Welfare Fund and Rs 6.55 crore from the National Horticulture Mission and National Agriculture Development Scheme.
  • It is notable that the announcement in this regard was made by the Chief Minister in the budget. With this decision of the Chief Minister, farmers will be encouraged to set up fruit and spice gardens.
