Why In News?

• The Department of Higher Education of Madhya Pradesh has received the 'Government Sector Initiative Award to Promote Digital Learning' at the 24th World Education Summit in Hyderabad on July 28, 2022.

Key Points

• Higher Education Commissioner Deepak Singh received the award at an international function on the theme of Innovation in Education.
• Deepak Singh said that the state has received this award for its outstanding work in the field of digital learning in the context of National Education Policy. With this incentive, the state will be able to do better work in the field of higher education in the future also.
• The Department has implemented the National Policy on Education and also to connect the students with employment through activities such as vocational subjects, projects, internships, apprenticeships and community engagement for skill development.
• It is known that in Madhya Pradesh, the system of Digi locker is available in all the government universities. This will enable the students to get their mark list, degree, duplicate mark sheet, migration etc. certificates anywhere.
• The department is undertaking innovations, digital initiatives, creation of an integrated portal, online entry, e-learning, e-content creation, online training, virtual classes and teaching activities through Doordarshan.
