On August 17, 2023, a four-day Y-20 (Youth Conference) began in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. The formal inauguration will be done by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in the presence of Union Minister Anurag Thakur on August 18.

- The conference is being organised by the Department of Youth Affairs, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports under the framework of India's G20 Presidency.
- Around 150 delegates from G-20 member countries, guest countries and international organisations were identified by the Y-20 on five themes: Future of Work: Industry 4.0, Innovation and 21st Century Skills, Peacebuilding and Reconciliation: Beginning of a Warless Era, Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction: Making Sustainability a Lifestyle, Shared Future: Youth in Democracy and Governance, Health, Wellness and Sports: Brainstorm on agenda for youth.
- The Y-20 Summit is the culmination of the inaugural meeting in Guwahati, 14 Youth-20 consultations held in premier educational institutions, pre-summit in Leh, Ladakh, brainstorming sessions, Y-20 Chaupal and various public participation programmes organized ahead of the main Y-20 Summit across the country.
- The objective of this summit is to provide opportunities for collaboration and networking with other stakeholders, contribute to the development of youth and deliberate on the youth agenda on the global stage.
- The Y-20 Summit is the culmination of various meetings, including the inaugural meeting in Guwahati, the pre-summit in Leh, Ladakh and various public participation events held across the country ahead of the main summit.
- Around 150 delegates from G-20 countries, guest countries and international organisations are participating in the four-day summit.
