Formation of State Child Welfare and Protection Committee

Why In News?
On October 7, 2022, the Madhya Pradesh Public Relations Department informed that the state government has constituted a State Child Welfare and Protection Committee to monitor, evaluate and review Mission Vatsalya.
Key Points
- According to the information received from the department, this committee has been formed by superseding the state child protection committee formed earlier.
- Additional Chief Secretary/Principal Secretary Women and Child Development Committee will be the chairman of this committee.
- The principal secretary-level members in the committee include home, social justice and disabled welfare, public health and family welfare, law and legislative affairs, school education, sports and youth welfare, panchayat and rural development, technical education, skill development and employment, urban development and housing, labour, Higher Education, Medical Education, Scheduled Caste Welfare, Tribal Affairs and Secretary Madhya Pradesh State Commission for Protection of Child Rights have been included. The commissioner/director women and child development will be the member secretary in the committee.
- The Committee will implement, evaluate and review the Mission Vatsalya Guidelines quarterly every year.
