Financial approval received for survey and DPR work

Why In News?
- On October 19, 2022, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot approved Rs 7.20 crore from the state head for survey and DPR works in Bharatpur and Dholpur districts under the 'Chambal-Dholpur-Bharatpur Major Drinking Water Project'.
Key Point
- With this approval of Chief Minister Gehlot, the survey and DPR works of the project will get momentum and on the completion of the project in a time-bound manner, the works of domestic tap connections will also be completed in both Bharatpur and Dholpur districts.
- On completion of 'Chambal-Dholpur-Bharatpur Major Drinking Water Project', the problem of drinking water in urban and rural areas will be solved. Apart from this, adequate amount of water will also be available for irrigation.
- It is noteworthy that Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot had announced 'Chambal-Dholpur-Bharatpur Major Drinking Water Project' worth Rs 3 thousand 106 crore for smooth availability of drinking water in the budget 2022-23.
- It is to be noted that the state government had issued financial sanction for the first phase of the said project on September 14, 2022.
