Establishment of Science Park to Make Understanding of Science Easier

Why in News?

On April 1, 2022, the women scientist of Chhattisgarh Council of Science and Technology J.K. Rai said that to make science interesting and easy, a science park has been established in the school premises for the school students by the Chhattisgarh Council of Science and Technology.

  • Science Parks have been set up under the Science Popularization Scheme of Chhattisgarh Council of Science and Technology for wide dissemination of science in the state and for learning and understanding the principles of science through science demonstrations in sports and games among school students. .
  • A target has been set by the council to establish science parks in all the districts of the state.
  • Through these parks, students will be able to understand the various dimensions of science through play and play. Through this, the understanding and attitude of scientific facts useful in daily life, analytical thinking and creative talent will be developed in the students.
  • Science Park was established by B.M. Birla Science Centre, Birla Archaeological and Cultural Research Institute Division, Hyderabad as per their criteria.
  • In these science parks, mobile exhibits based on various principles of school science curriculum have been set up. Through these models, students are able to easily understand the principles of science included in the curriculum.
  • These models include anti-gravity angle to represent the center of gravity theory, Race the roller for the principle of moment of inertia, pendulum patterns on the principle of pendulum, Newton cradle on Newton's principle, xylophone for the theory of sound wave, black to represent angular momentum. Split Personality for Hole, 2D and 3D Theory and Corona Virus Demonstration Board for COVID-19 etc.
  • It is noteworthy that a total of 12 science parks have been established in the state, out of which two science parks have been established in Raipur, one each in Durg, Narayanpur, Dhamtari, Janjgir-Champa, Balodabazar, Raigarh, Mahasamund, Kondagaon and Bilaspur.
  • Recently, Science Park has been established in Government Higher Secondary School, Pauwara in Durg district and work of setting up outdoor-indoor Science Park in Government Higher Secondary School, Marra is in progress.
