Electric-Vehicle Policy-2022

Why In News?

  • On November 17, 2022, Anand Mohan Sharan, Additional Chief Secretary, Haryana Industries and Commerce Department, informed that the state Industries and Commerce Department has notified the Electric-Vehicle Policy-2022, under which 12 schemes have been made live.

Key Points

  • Anand Mohan Sharan informed that the electric-vehicle policy aims to promote the manufacture of electric vehicles and their components in the state. The formation of this policy will promote research and development in the field of electric-vehicles.
  • Apart from strengthening infrastructure, provisions have also been made to reduce the upfront cost of electric vehicles, which will also encourage buyers of hybrid EVs.
  • The 12 schemes that have been made live to promote electric vehicles in the Electric-Vehicle Policy include Purchase Incentive for Buyers, Charging and Battery Swapping Station Scheme, Pure SGST Reimbursement Scheme, Capital Subsidy Scheme, Employment Generation Grant Scheme, Electricity Duty Exemption Scheme, Stamp Duty Reimbursement Scheme, Patent Duty Reimbursement Scheme, R&D Incentive, Human Capacity Building Excellence Center Scheme, Seed and Transformation Fund Scheme, Water Treatment Incentive Scheme.
