Drug warehouses to come up in all districts of UP

Why In News?
Recently, the Director General of Medical Education (DGME) dr. N. C. Prajapati said that in order to ensure availability of medicines in every district of Uttar Pradesh, the concerned officials have been directed by the state government to set up drug warehouses in every district of the state.
Key Point
- In this context , the Health Department has prepared an action plan under which 25 drug godowns will be inaugurated in eight districts of Uttar Pradesh - Rae Bareli, Sitapur, Gonda, Barabanki, Shahjahanpur, Auraiya, Farrukhabad and Sambhal in the next two years.
- Dr. Prajapati said that the control of these drug godowns and the supply of medicines to these drug godowns will be done directly by the DG office at Lucknow.
- This will ensure availability of medicines at the village level as well as ensure transparent distribution of medicines in primary health centres (PHCs).
