Documentary Film on Haat Bazar Clinic Scheme

Why In News?

  • On November 21, 2022, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel released a documentary film prepared by WHO on the Haat Bazar Clinic Scheme of the Chhattisgarh government in a program organized at his residence office. The film will be screened at the World Health Organization's headquarters in Geneva.

  • WHO representative Dr. Hilde D. Greve, present on the occasion, said that the last person of the state is getting the benefit of the Chief Minister's Haat Bazar Clinic Scheme. This innovation is not there in any other state of the country. Keeping these things in mind, WHO has produced this documentary film, so that this scheme can be promoted not only in other states but also in foreign countries.

  • Today, the last person of Vananchal region is also getting the benefit of this scheme. Those who could not get their treatment due to distance from the hospital are getting treatment through this scheme near their homes today.
  • The Haat-Bazar Clinic Scheme has played an effective role in the success of malaria-free Bastar campaign and Mukhya Mantri Suposhan Yojana. With the operation of this scheme, the cases of diarrhea in Bastar have reduced significantly.
  • It is known that 1798 Haat Bazaar Clinic Scheme is being operated in the state with the help of 429 medical mobile vehicles. So far, more than 62 lakh 47 thousand people have been provided medical facilities in the last 4 years through more than 1 lakh 28 thousand Haat Bazar Clinics.
  • Under the Haat Bazar Clinic Scheme, 10 types of tests and 60 types of medicines are being given free of cost. Under this scheme, medicines were distributed to more than 57 lakh 35 thousand people and more than 25 lakh people have undergone pathology tests.
  • In the Hot Bazaar Clinic scheme, pregnant mothers are being tested, infectious and non-communicable diseases are being tested, eye disease testing, malnutrition testing, skin diseases, diabetes, TB, leprosy, high blood pressure and HIV testing and family planning advice are being given to the people. Vaccination of infants and pregnant women is also being done in these clinics.
  • Health Secretary R. Prasanna said that under this scheme, patients are being sent to the nearest Primary Health Center, Community Health Center, District Hospital and Medical College for referral treatment as per the requirement. The number of patients coming to the Haat Bazaar clinic has increased from 18 to 72 in the last 4 years.
