Dantewada to be the 1st District with Virology Lab Facility

Why in News?
On July 11, 2023, according to the information given by Chhattisgarh Public Relations Department, Dantewada will be the first district hospital in Bastar division where the facility of virology lab is going to start.
Key Points:
- The Chief Medical Health Officer said that after the establishment of the Virology Lab, Hepatitis B and C would be tested in the district hospital.
- After the first hepatitis test, the patients were sent to AIIMS for further testing if they were positive in the rapid test. Where it used to take a month to get the report. About 10 to 15 thousand rupees were spent in getting this test done in private lab institutions.
- Now this test will be done free of cost in the Virology Lab of Dantewada District Hospital, which will benefit the patients and they will not have to wait for a month. The report will be available soon.
- Even before this, according to the announcement of the Chief Minister, CityScan facility has been started in the district hospital, the benefits of which are being availed by villagers from far and wide. Now there is no need to go to big cities like Jagdalpur for this.
- It is known that Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel is making special efforts to provide better health facilities to the people in remote and inaccessible areas. All-round development is being done in Chhattisgarh in the fields of health, education, malnutrition and self-employment.
