Why In News?
- On March 7, 2023, Haryana Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal informed in a meeting that a comprehensive cashless health insurance scheme (CCIS) has been prepared by the Haryana Health Department, which will soon be presented to the Chief Minister for approval.
Key points
- Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal informed that the scheme is expected to benefit about 3.35 lakh families (about 14.30 lakh persons) employees including boards and corporations.
- In addition, 3.05 lakh families of pensioners (6.10 lakh persons), 1200 families of recognized media persons (about 4800 persons), 424 families of Azad Hind Fauj soldiers (848 persons), 186 families associated with Hindi movement (372 persons), 555 families (1,110 persons) jailed during Emergency and 614 families (1228) jailed during Second World War will be benefited from this scheme.
- A total of 6 lakh 52 thousand families (20.48 lakh individuals) are expected to be covered under this comprehensive cashless health insurance scheme.
- Prabhjot Singh, Special Secretary, Health Department said that comments and suggestions have been sought from various departments, boards and corporations regarding this scheme. Apart from these, suggestions were also taken from various employees and pensioner unions of departments, universities, boards, corporations, ministerial education employees.
