CM launches Agriculture Drone Solution, Animal Operated Cultivator and Planter

Why In News?

  • On July 28, 2022, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel launched the Complete Agriculture Drone Solution, Animal Operated Battery Operated Cultivator and Planter in a program organized on the occasion of the first festival of Chhattisgarh 'Hareli' at village Karsa in Patan block of Durg district.

Key Points

  • The medicine can be sprayed within half an hour in 4 acres of fields through agriculture drones. Normally a farmer takes 3 hours for 1 acre for this. The amount of medicine can also be determined through the machine.
  • There is also a problem in getting labor for spraying in rural areas. Through this, the farmers will also save time and the income of the groups will also increase.
  • Along with the agriculture drone solution, there will also be an agri ambulance, which will also have the facility of agriculture lab. In this, farmers will be able to do soil testing etc. It will have full facilities for farming and farming. There will also be availability of organic manure.
  • It is noteworthy that it will work on PPP model. Work can be done through one machine in 20 villages. This will be done by the working group. Only the youth of the group will be trained to operate the drone. The members of the group will be technically proficient in this. With this, they will get enough time for other livelihood activities apart from farming.
  • On this occasion, the Chief Minister also launched two types of agricultural machines – animal operated battery operated cultivator and planter, made by the scientists of Agricultural Engineering College, operated under Indira Gandhi Agricultural University.
  • According to agricultural experts, the use of these machines will reduce the time spent by the farmers in agricultural work, as well as reduce the cost. The use of battery operated cultivators and planters will also reduce the burden on animals.
  • Animal operated battery operated cultivator for secondary tillage can solve the problem of farmers. With the help of this cultivator, 1 hectare of field can be ploughed secondary once in 5-7 hours. With this, while the cattle will have to put less force, the farmer can also easily operate the entire machine by sitting on the seat. The cost of this entire device is about 55-60 thousand rupees.
  • With the help of animal operated battery operated planters, the queued seed-to-seed can be sown while maintaining a distance. The distance between the queue-to-row to this planter is 20 to 50 cm according to the crop. You can organize up to. The cost of the planter is about 20-25 thousand rupees.
