Why in News?
On September 13, 2023, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot inaugurated Oxygen City Park (The Garden of Joy) in Kota district of the state.
Key Points
- On this occasion, the Chief Minister also unveiled the inauguration plaques of the newly constructed Tax Building of the Commercial Tax Department, Kota and the newly constructed head office and new branch building of The Kota Central Co-operative Bank Limited, Kota.
- In this park, the people of Kota as well as the students preparing for various competitive examinations will get a pleasant environment. You will be stress free by roaming here amidst nature and music. Huge fountains have also been built at both the entrances to the park.
- Specialty of Oxygen City Park:
- This park has been built at a cost of Rs 120 crore. Its construction work took 800 days.
- The park, developed in an area of 30 hectares, has a 4 km paved track and a 1.25 km jogging track along the canal. There is also a canal of 1.04 km and 12-15 meter width.
- More than 2 lakh saplings have been planted in the park and an aviary has been constructed for 200 foreign and native birds.
- 85 percent of the greenery in this park has been developed naturally.
- Here, 15 meter high gun metal statues (Tree Man, Knowledge is Freedom, Save the Earth) have been made and a 13 by 28 meter glass house has been constructed.
- There is 1 artificial hill (Art Hill), 3D mapping on 12 x 12 meters and 9 meters high inverted pyramid, 45 x 40 meters Duck Pound at a height of 10 meters, 1 waterfall in 320 meters length, 2 Stone Bridges, 1 Wooden Bridge, 1 Ramp Bridge, Food Zone above the canal in the park, Cafe, City Market, Amphitheatre, Kids Zone, Open gyms have been constructed.
