Chhattisgarh's Godhan Nyay Yojana gets National Alets Innovation Award

Why in News?
The ambitious Godhan Nyay scheme of Chhattisgarh government has been awarded the Elets Innovations Award at the national level at the two-day Elets Atma Nirbhar Bharat Summit held in New Delhi on April 19, 2022. The state of Chhattisgarh has been given this award in the category of innovation in agriculture.

- Dr. Ravi Gupta, Founder, CEO and Editor-in-Chief of Alets Technomedia Pvt Ltd and Secretary, Government of India, Ministry of Textiles, U.P. Singh jointly presented this award to RL Khare, joint director of Godhan Nyay Yojana.
- It is noteworthy that the Godhan Nyay Yojana of the Government of Chhattisgarh has earlier received the 'Skoch Gold Award' for its outstanding contribution to environmental protection and sustainable development. This award was presented by Skoch Group to Godhan Nyay Yojana of Chhattisgarh on March 20, 2021 in New Delhi.
- It is noteworthy that on the initiative of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, Godhan Nyay Yojana was started in Chhattisgarh on July 20, 2020 from Hareli festival. Under this scheme, cow dung is being procured from livestock farmers and villagers at the rate of Rs.2 per kg.
- Through this scheme, livestock protection and crop promotion and protection of the environment, control of stray animals, income to villagers and animal owners from the sale of dung, employment and income to women self-help groups from vermicompost and super compost and other products and organic farming. Got encouragement. The use of vermicompost and super compost manure is improving the quality of food grains and the fertility of the land and reducing the cost of cultivation.
- With this scheme, dairy and animal husbandry have been encouraged and milk production has also started increasing.
