On the occasion of Teacher's Day on 5th September, in a function organized at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi, President Draupadi Murmu presented the National Teacher’s Award to three teachers from Bihar selected for the National Teacher’s Award 2023.

- It is noteworthy that President Draupadi Murmu awarded the National Teacher’s Award for the year 2023 to a total of 75 selected teachers from across the country at a function organized at Vigyan Bhavan.
- In this teacher's felicitation ceremony, all the award-winning teachers were given Rs 50,000 in cash, citation, shawl, quince.
- Anil Kumar Singh, a teacher of Adarsh Balika Plus Two Higher Secondary School Ramgarh in Kaimur district of Bihar, Dwijendra Kumar, a teacher of Secondary School Madhuban, Sitamarhi, and Kumari Guddi, a teacher of High School Singhia in Kishanganj, were given the National Teacher’s Award.
- National Teacher’s Day:
- Celebrated on 5th September every year since 1962, the day aims to honor the contribution of teachers including school teachers, researchers and professors in India.
- The then President of India, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, suggested celebrating his birthday as Teacher's Day in response to the students' request for the celebration.
- National Teacher’s Award:
- The National Teachers Awards aims to celebrate the unique contribution of some of the finest teachers of the country and to honor those teachers who through their commitment have not only improved the quality of education but also enriched the lives of their students.
- These awards are presented by the President of India on 5th September every year.
- The award consists of a silver medal, a certificate and a cash amount of Rs 50,000.
- This year, in addition to the teachers selected by the School Education and Literacy Department, teachers selected by the Higher Education Department and Skill Development Ministry have also been included in the scope of the award.
