Ayush Village of 100 Bed Capacity in Uttarakhand

Why In News?
- On September 18, 2022, according to the information received from the media, a 100-bed capacity Ayush village will be established in Uttarakhand to promote Ayurveda medicine system and investment. For this, Arya Vaidya Shala of Kerala agreed and talked about signing an MoU with Ayurveda University.

- Recently, a delegation of Arya Vaidya Shala from Kerala, working in the Ayurveda sector towards making Uttarakhand an AYUSH hub, visited Rishikul and Gurukul Ayurveda Colleges in Haridwar and agreed to sign an MoU with the university for research work on Ayurveda in collaboration with the state.
- The delegation held a meeting with Governor Lt Gen Gurmeet Singh (Sen.), Chief Secretary Dr. SS Sandhu, Secretary Ayush Dr. Pankaj Kumar Pandey and discussed the roadmap for promotion of Ayurveda in detail.
- The Governor told the delegation to promote Panchakarma, Marma therapy and give priority to publicity. In addition, emphasis was placed on the use of aromatic plants and herbs in daily life. He said that more than 179 aromas and more than 200 herbs are found in the state.
- The CEO of Arya Vaidya Shala, Dr. GC Gopala Pillai, who was part of the delegation, suggested the use of 'Wellbeing' instead of the word 'wellness' related to Ayurveda field.
