Why in News
- On November 2, 2021, the State Cabinet, chaired by the Chief Minister of Haryana, Manohar Lal Khattar, approved the One Time Settlement Scheme for resolving the issues related to the mining sector in Haryana under the State's Promise Resolution Scheme.
Key Points
- To ensure smooth mining and to minimize litigation/disputes, the long pending issues were settled under the policy of resolution of disputes headed by the Chief Minister in consultation with all the stakeholders.
- The State Government has decided to settle the following through the 'Ekmusht Niptan Yojna'–
- Amount due for the period prior to obtaining environmental clearance and consent to operate.
- Submit the application to the mineral concessionaires on issues arising out of area disputes, difficulties arising out of local disturbances, quality of minerals, market conditions, works becoming economically unviable, etc.
- outstanding for the period of suspension.
- Non-execution of agreement.
- Denial of environmental clearance.
- Wherever restrictions/amendments are required to be made in the terms of the post award area of the contract, the annual contract amount/dead rent will be reduced.
- Dues for the period of CTE/CTO have been denied.
- Lump sum relief in interest amount on payment of arrears.
