Why In News?
On 28 May, 2023, Madhya Pradesh's Animal Husbandry and Dairy Minister Premsingh Patel distributed state-level awards to cow-herders under the 'Chief Minister's Animal Husbandry Development Scheme' in village DhabaBawadi of Barwani district.
Key Points:
- It is known that the Animal Husbandry Department had organized competitions from February 1 to 15, 2023 in all the districts of the state to promote Indian advanced breed cow-rearing with Madhya Pradesh's native breed cows - Malvi, Nimadi and Kenkatha. .
- In the scheme, after the district level competition, the most milch cows have been selected at the state level. In both the competitions, first prize of Rs 2 lakh, second prize of Rs one lakh and third prize of Rs 50 thousand were awarded.
- In the competition of cows of the native bovine breed of the state, Malvi cow of Ashish Sharma of Shajapur district, who gave giving 14.760 liters of milk from got the first prize, Malvi cow of Ghanshyam Prajapati of Bandarbela Badnagar in Ujjain district, who gave 12.882 liters of milk, and Nimari cow of Deepak Verma of Patlavad of Dhar district, who gave 11.96 liters of milk, got the third prize.
- In the Indian advanced breed, Rajmani Yadav of Nayagaon in Chhatarpur district won the first prize for 25.21 liters of milk cow, Smt. Neelu Murari of Neemuch gave 22.45 liters of milk to Gir breed cow and Sahiwal breed cow giving 20.99 liters of milk to Ravendra Kumar Pandey of Kathura in Singrauli district got the third prize.
