On October 25, 2021, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated 9 medical colleges of the state - Siddharthnagar, Etah, Hardoi, Pratapgarh, Deoria, Ghazipur, Mirzapur, Fatehpur and Jaunpur constructed at a cost of Rs 2329 crore in Siddharthnagar district.

- In Uttar Pradesh, 30 medical colleges are opening under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana.
- The work of these 30 medical colleges has been carried forward with the help of the Government of India and in some districts by the State Government from its own resources.
