On November 8, 2021, President Ram Nath Kovind presented the Padma Awards announced for the year 2020 to 8 personalities from Bihar.

- For the year 2020, one person from Bihar was awarded Padma Vibhushan and 7 people were awarded Padma Shri.
- Former Defense Minister George Fernandes was posthumously awarded the Padma Vibhushan for his service in the field of public affairs.
- At the same time, the following seven personalities were given the Padma Shri award-
- Shri Sujoy Kumar Guha (in the field of Science & Engineering)
- Shri Bimal Kumar Jain (in the field of Social Work)
- Mrs. Shanti Jain (in the field of art)
- Dr. Shanti Roy (in the field of medicine)
- Shri Shyamsundar Sharma (in the field of Arts)
- Shri Ramji Singh (in the field of social work)
- Shri Vashisht Narayan Singh (Posthumous) (in the field of Science and Engineering)
- A total of 141 awards have been given for the year 2020, including 7 Padma Vibhushan, 16 Padma Bhushan and 118 Padma Shri.
