500 Mobile Units to be set up in Rajasthan Police Department

Why In News?
- On October 19, 2022, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot approved the proposal to set up 500 new mobile units on the lines of 108 ambulances towards strengthening and modernization of the police department in the state.
Key Point
- The Chief Minister said that these mobile units will be connected to Abhay Command Center (Dial 100/ Dial 112) and 1 head constable and 2 constables will be deployed for each unit. In this way, 3 head constables and 6 constables will be required for 24 hours.
- He informed that 500 vehicles are proposed to be hired for the formation of these units. These units will be operated by the nafri available in the police.
- This decision of the Chief Minister will increase the efficiency of the police and it will be easier to solve the problems of the common man. With the formation of these mobile units, along with increasing police patrolling, criminal incidents will also decrease.
