33 New Women Police Stations and 239 Women Help Desks Established in the State

Why In News?
On January 26, 2023, Haryana's Home and Health Minister Anil Vij told during the 74th Republic Day celebrations at the Police Line Complex in Ambala city of the state that 33 new women's police stations and 239 women's help centers have been set up in the state to deal with crimes against women. The desks have been set up.
Key points
- On this occasion, Home and Health Minister Anil Vij said that the state government is determined to increase the number of women police personnel in Haryana Police to 15 percent. In this series, to provide security to women, 24 companies of 'Durga Shakti Rapid Action Force' have been deployed for the security of school-college going girls and other women.
- He said that people should not face any problem in registering FIR, for this Zero FIR. The concept has been introduced. Now in any police station F.I.R. can be registered, irrespective of where the incident took place.
- The Home Minister informed that the Trakia bar-coding system has been commissioned at the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) at Police Complex, Madhuban in Karnal district. This system is fully computerized. Haryana is the first state in the country to use this type of system from the police station level to the forensic lab.
- He informed that Haryana Police has been awarded 5 times for sending passport verification before the stipulated time period.
- Anil Vij said that approval has been given to open five new police stations in Ambala range and one in Munak in Karnal district. In order to increase the sense of police security among the people and the police is with them at every step, the 112 vehicles have been added to the police fleet under 600 toll free number. Two vehicles have been provided in each police station.
