    (e) Find the average of all the expenditures in Village Industry by state A and state B, expenditure in social service by state A and state B, expenditure in agriculture by state A and B. (6 marks)

    (f) Which state focused more on village industries? (6 marks)

    (a) What is the ratio of expenditure in Agriculture in the state A and state B?

    Answer:

Total Expenditure by State A = Rs 5000 crores

Expenditure in Agriculture in State A = 68° of 360° of total expenditure

    = 68/360 * 5000 crores

Total Expenditure by State B = Rs 8000 crores

Expenditure in Agriculture in State B = 68° of 360° of total expenditure

    = 68/360 * 8000 crores

    Ratio = 68/360 * 5000 crores: 68/360 * 8000 crores

Hence, the ratio of the expenditure in Agriculture in state A and state B is 5:8.

    (b) By what percent, the expenditure in Transport increased in state B in comparison to state A?

    Answer:

Total Expenditure by State B = Rs 8000 crores

Expenditure in Transport in State B = 78° of 360° of total expenditure

    = 78/360 * 8000 crores = 1733.3 crores

Total Expenditure by State A = Rs 5000 crores

Expenditure in Transport in State A = 65° of 360° of total expenditure

    = 65/360 * 5000 crores = 902.7 crores

Hence, the Percentage increased in the expenditure in Transport in the state B in comparison to the state A,

    = (1733.3 crores - 902.7 crores)/902.7 crores * 100

    = 92.01%

    (c) Find the difference between the expenditure in the social service by state A and expenditure in the Industry and Mining by state A and state B taken together.

    Answer:

Total Expenditure by State A = Rs 5000 crores

Expenditure in the social service by state A = 102° of 360° of total expenditure

    = 102/360 * 5000 crores = 1416.6 crores

Total Expenditure by State A = Rs 5000 crores

Expenditure in the Industry and Mining in State A = 41° of 360° of total expenditure

    = 41/360 * 5000 crores = 569.4 crores

Total Expenditure by State B = Rs 8000 crores

Expenditure in the Industry and Mining in State B = 13° of 360° of total expenditure

    = 13/360 * 8000 crores = 288.8 crores

Hence, the difference between the expenditure in the social service by state A and expenditure in the Industry and Mining by state A and state B taken together

    = 1416.6 crores – (569.4 crores + 288.8 crores)

    = 558.4 crores

    (d) By what percent, the expenditure in Irrigation by state B is higher than the expenditure on Irrigation by state A.

    Answer:

Total Expenditure by State B = Rs 8000 crores

Expenditure in the Irrigation in State B = 70° of 360° of total expenditure

    = 70/360 * 8000 crores

Total Expenditure by State A = Rs 5000 crores

Expenditure in the Irrigation in State A = 70° of 360° of total expenditure

    = 70/360 * 5000 crores

    Hence, the Percentage increased in the expenditure in Irrigation in the state B in comparison to the state A, = (70/360 * 8000 crores - 70/360 * 5000 crores)/ (70/360 * 5000 crores) *100

    = 60%

    (e) Find the average of all the expenditures in Village Industry by state A and state B, expenditure in social service by state A and state B, expenditure in agriculture by state A and B.

    Answer:

Total Expenditure by State A = Rs 5000 crores

Expenditure in the Village Industry in State A = 14° of 360° of total expenditure

    = 14/360 * 5000 crores

    = 194.4 crores

Total Expenditure by State B = Rs 8000 crores

Expenditure in the Village Industry in State B = 51° of 360° of total expenditure

    = 51/360 * 8000 crores = 1133.3 crores

Total Expenditure by State A = Rs 5000 crores

Expenditure in the social service in State A = 102° of 360° of total expenditure

    = 102/360 * 5000 crores = 1416.6 crores

Total Expenditure by State B = Rs 8000 crores

Expenditure in the social service in State B = 80° of 360° of total expenditure

    = 80/360 * 8000 crores = 1777.7 crores

Total Expenditure by State A = Rs 5000 crores

Expenditure in the agriculture in State A = 68° of 360° of total expenditure

    = 68/360 * 5000 crores

    = 944.4 crores

Total Expenditure by State B = Rs 8000 crores

Expenditure in the agriculture in State B = 68° of 360° of total expenditure

    = 68/360 * 8000 crores

    = 1511.1 crores

    Hence, the average of all the six expenditures, = (194.4 crores + 1133.3 crores + 1416.6 crores + 1777.7 crores + 944.4 crores + 1511.1 crores)/ 6

    = 6977.5/6

    = 1162.91 crores

    (f) Which state focused more on village industries?

    Answer:

Total Expenditure by State A = Rs 5000 crores

Expenditure in the village industry in State A = 14° of 360° of total expenditure

    = 14/360 * 5000 crores = 194.4 crores

Total Expenditure by State B = Rs 8000 crores

Expenditure in the village industry in State B = 51° of 360° of total expenditure

    = 51/360 * 8000 crores = 1133.3 crores

Expenditure on the village industry in State B is higher than the expenditure on the village industry in State A.

Hence, state B focused more on the village Industry.
