    (a) What will be the percentage of Population living in Rural areas of Uttar Pradesh (UP), Delhi, Rajasthan, and Tamil Nadu (TN) taken together of the total population?

    Answer:

    Total Population of Uttar Pradesh (UP) = 3900 × 105 × 25/100

Ratio of people living in Rural areas to Urban areas = 5:3

    Total number of people living in Rural areas in UP = 3900 × 105 × 25/100 × 5/8

    = 609.3× 105

    Total Population of Delhi = 3900 × 105 ×15/100

Ratio of people living in Rural areas to Urban areas = 3:7

    Total number of people living in Rural areas in UP = 3900 × 105 × 15/100 × 3/10

    = 175.5 × 105

    Total Population of Rajasthan = 3900 × 105 ×15/100

Ratio of people living in Rural areas to Urban areas = 7:5

    Total number of people living in Rural areas in UP = 3900 × 105 × 15/100 × 7/12

    = 341.2 × 105

    Total Population of Tamil Nadu (TN) = 3900 × 105 × 13/100

Ratio of people living in Rural areas to Urban areas = 3:2

    Total number of people living in Rural areas in UP = 3900 × 105 × 13/100 × 3/5

    = 304.2 × 105

Total Population living in in Rural Areas in all four states- Uttar Pradesh (UP), Delhi, Rajasthan, and Tamil Nadu (TN)

    = 609.3 × 105 + 175.5 × 105 + 341.2 × 105 + 304.2 × 105

    = 1430.2 × 105

Hence, the percentage of Population living in Rural areas of Uttar Pradesh (UP), Delhi, Rajasthan, and Tamil Nadu (TN) taken together of the total population

    = (1430.2 × 105/3900 × 105) × 100

    = 36.6%

    (b) Find the ratio of the number of males in Bihar and MP.

    Answer:

    Total population of Bihar = 3900 × 105 ×12/100

Ratio of males to females in Bihar = 5:3

    Total number of males in Bihar = 3900 × 105 ×12/100 × 5/8 = 292.5 × 105

    Total population of Madhya Pradesh (MP) = 3900 × 105 × 20/100

Ratio of males to females in Bihar = 5:4

    Total number of males in Bihar = 3900 × 105 × 20/100 × 5/9 = 433.3 × 105

    Ratio = 292.5: 433.3 = 2925: 4333

Hence, the ratio of the number of males in Bihar and MP is 2925: 4333.

    Answer:

Percentage of people living in Urban areas in Delhi = 15% × 7/10

Percentage of people living in Urban areas in Tamil Nadu (TN) = 13% × 2/5

    = 5.2%

Percentage of people living in rural areas in Uttar Pradesh (UP) = 25% × 5/8 = 15.6%

Total percentage of people living in Urban areas in Delhi, TN, and UP taken together is 10.5% + 5.2% + 15.6% = 31.3%

    Answer:

    Total number of females in UP = 25% × 3900 × 105 × 3/8

    = 365.6 × 105

    Total number of females in MP = 20% × 3900 × 105 × 4/9 = 346.6 × 105

    The total number of females in UP And MP = 365.6 × 105 + 346.6 × 105

    = 712.2 × 105

    Female population from Tamil Nadu (TN) = 3900 × 105 × 13/100 × 2/5

    = 202.8 × 105

    People living in Urban area from Delhi = 3900 × 105 × 15/100 × 7/10

    = 202.8 × 105

    Sum = 234 × 105 + 202.8 × 105 + 202.8 × 105 = 846.3 × 105

Hence, the sum of male population from Rajasthan, female population from TN and people living in Urban areas from Delhi is 846.3 × 105.
