    Virupaksha Temple, Hampi, Karnataka. The UNESCO World Heritage Site, Virupaksha Temple, renowned for its historical significance, suffered extensive damage caused due to heavy rains. The Archaeological Survey of India is taking all possible steps to restore the damaged portion of the Virupaksha temple. Virupaksha temple is the 7th-century Shiva temple in Hampi, Karnataka.

It spreads across the districts of Korba, Surajpur, and Surguja in Chhattisgarh. It is known as the "lungs of Chhattisgarh" and is home to 25 endangered species, 92 bird species, and 167 rare and medicinal plant species.
