Recently, an IAS couple has been in the news for walking their pet dog in a sports stadium. As soon as the news went viral, it was found that the athletes were made to vacate the stadium before time to make it available for the couple.
Outrage over social media platforms started against the unjustified misuse of power by the couple to use the public property for personal benefits.
Follow-up action by the Ministry of Home Affairs was also taken in time leading to transfer of the husband to Ladakh and wife to Arunachal Pradesh, quoted as Punishment Posting by few fellow officers.
While action against misuse of power was need of the hour, do you think that punishment posting in two different zones was an efficient approach to resolve the issue?
