Preparation Strategy

Create a Realistic Study Plan

A solid plan is half the battle won. Draft a weekly schedule that divides your time between core subjects and revision. Include daily goals, weekly mock tests, and monthly syllabus targets. Use digital planners or apps to track your preparation journey effectively.

  • Morning: Read current affairs (The Hindu / Loksatta + Drishti IAS’s State PCS Magazine)
  • Afternoon: Study core subjects like Polity, History, or Economy
  • Evening: Practice questions, solve PYQs, or attempt one mock test paper

Master the Art of Current Affairs

Current affairs hold weight in both Prelims and Mains. Dedicate at least 1 hour daily to news analysis. Focus on Maharashtra-specific schemes and policies, National events, budget, and government initiatives, International relations and summits

  • Use the Drishti IAS’s Current Affairs Monthly Magazine and Daily News Analysis from the Drishti PCS Website to consolidate your knowledge.
  • Make short notes, and revise them weekly.

Leverage NCERT Books

For conceptual clarity, start with NCERT books (Class 6 to 12) — especially for subjects like History, Geography, Science, and Economics. They are simple, structured, and form the foundation for advanced study.
